How bulk import works

The fastest way to load a territory into Salesmotion is to paste a list of company website URLs:

  1. Go to your Accounts dashboard and select Add Accounts.
  2. Paste your list of company URLs, one per line. Domains are enough: acme.com works as well as the full address.
  3. Confirm the list. Salesmotion matches each URL to a company and starts processing.

The URL is the most reliable identifier for a company, which is why import works from web addresses rather than free-text company names. Most CRMs and spreadsheet lists include a website column you can copy directly.

CSV upload is not available yet. If your list lives in a CSV, copy the website column and paste it in. The result is identical.

How long processing takes

After import, Salesmotion builds a full intelligence profile for each account: sources are scanned, signals extracted, and the account brief generated.

  • Typical accounts are ready in about 15 minutes.
  • Large enterprises can take 1 to 2 hours. More subsidiaries, filings, news coverage, and earnings history mean more material to process.

You do not need to keep the tab open. Processing runs in the background, and accounts appear in your dashboard as they complete.

Companies that are hard to match

Very new or very small companies occasionally are not in the underlying company graph yet, especially if they launched recently and have little public footprint. If an account does not resolve:

  • Double-check the URL is the company's primary domain, not a product microsite.
  • Give it the exact domain from their website rather than a LinkedIn or Crunchbase link.
  • If it still does not appear, contact support@salesmotion.io with the domain and the team will add it.

Swapping accounts against your plan limit

Your plan caps how many accounts are monitored continuously, not how many you can ever add. Two rules make this flexible:

  • Only live tracked accounts count toward the cap. An Individual plan monitors 100 accounts at a time.
  • You can swap accounts in and out freely. Remove an account you no longer work and the slot is available immediately for a new one.

A common pattern for larger territories: keep your active working set tracked for daily signals, and rotate accounts in when they become a priority.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import accounts directly from Salesforce or HubSpot?

With the Salesforce integration connected, accounts sync between systems, so your CRM list is the natural source. See Connecting Salesforce and CRM Integrations. For HubSpot, export the website column and paste it in while the native integration is in development.

What happens if I paste the same account twice?

Duplicates resolve to the same company, so a URL appearing twice in your list does not create two accounts or consume two slots.

Is there a limit on how many URLs I can paste at once?

Paste your full list in one go. Very large lists simply take longer to process, and accounts become available progressively rather than all at once.
