The short answer
Different parts of an account profile refresh at different speeds, matched to how fast the underlying information changes:
| Data | Refresh cadence |
|---|---|
| Signals (news, jobs, filings, funding, trials) | Several times per week (typically 4 to 5 scans) |
| "What You Need to Know" summary | Regenerates live on every visit |
| Account brief and AI insights | Updates as new signals land |
| Deep company fields (financial profile, tech stack, org data) | Monthly |
| New account initial processing | About 15 minutes, up to 2 hours for large enterprises |
How signal monitoring works
Salesmotion scans its source network continuously and processes new material for your tracked accounts multiple times per week. When a scan finds something new for one of your accounts, the signal is extracted, scored, tied to the account, and pushed to your feed and alerts.
In practice that means a funding round, executive change, or earnings statement typically appears in Salesmotion within a day or two of becoming public, and your alerts fire without you checking the platform.
If you expect daily alert volume but receive alerts only every few days, the cause is usually keyword configuration rather than refresh speed. Narrow keywords match less material. See Keyword Strategy Best Practices for how to widen coverage without adding noise.
What regenerates live
The "What You Need to Know" section at the top of every account regenerates each time you open the account, synthesizing the current signal picture into a fresh summary. Two visits a week apart can produce different summaries even without a major new signal, because the model re-weighs recency.
What refreshes monthly
Slow-moving company fundamentals refresh on a monthly cycle: financial profiles, technology stack, organizational data, and similar structural fields. These rarely change faster than that in reality.
If you spot a field that is clearly stale, for example financials showing an old fiscal year, report it to support@salesmotion.io. Stale fields can be re-triggered manually, and reports like this help tune the refresh windows.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a signal sometimes appear days after the news broke?
Sources publish at different speeds, and some material (trial registries, filings) is updated late at the source itself. Salesmotion processes what sources make available; the scan cadence adds at most a day or two on top of source publication.
Does refreshing depend on how often I log in?
No. Monitoring runs 24/7 server-side for every tracked account. Logging in daily or monthly makes no difference to what gets captured, only the "What You Need to Know" summary regenerates on visit.
Can I trigger a manual refresh for one account?
Removing and re-adding an account re-runs full processing, which effectively refreshes everything. For a stale individual field, contacting support is faster and avoids losing signal history.
